Hayato Kagami (加賀美ハヤト) of NIJISANJI has a new original song on the way: Destroyer Girl (デストロイアガール), premiering on YouTube on Wednesday, October 29 at 8:00 PM JST. And honestly, the announcement alone already has the right energy — a song literally titled “Destroyer Girl” coming from an artist who knows how to bring attitude on stage.
Destroyer Girl: What We Know About the Song So Far
Details about the sound are still under wraps until the premiere goes live, but the title Destroyer Girl (デストロイアガール) does a lot of heavy lifting on its own. It promises something with teeth — and Kagami’s track record with higher-energy performances suggests this won’t be a quiet ballad. Either way, we’ll find out together the moment the premiere starts.
The Creative Team Behind Destroyer Girl Is Legitimately Stacked
The credits are worth getting excited about on their own. Lyrics come from Kai Kubota (クボタカイ), with music co-written by Kubota and Taro Ishida. Ishida also handles the arrangement, all instruments and programming, and the mixing — which means one person is shaping a huge portion of the final sound, and that kind of unified vision usually makes for a tight, cohesive track.
Recording engineer duties go to Tomoaki Kato (加藤智明) of POPHOLIC, so the vocal capture side is in experienced hands too.
The MV Team: Illustration and Movie Credits
On the visual side, the illustration is by Hijiri Fushino (房野聖), with the movie work handled by omu. An illustrated MV paired with a dedicated video editor is a promising combo — expect something with real visual personality rather than a static artwork loop.
When and Where to Watch the Destroyer Girl Premiere
The MV premieres on October 29 at 8:00 PM JST on Hayato Kagami’s official YouTube channel. Set a reminder on the video page, show up early, and watch it live with everyone else — premieres are half the fun. Kagami himself is keeping things teasingly patient about it, asking fans to “bear with me for a little while.”
For a NIJISANJI talent, an original song with a fully credited production team like this is always worth marking on the calendar. We’ll be back with a full breakdown once the song is actually out — for now, the countdown is on.
