The official theme song for X VORDER RUNWAY just dropped, and the vocalist list alone is the story: 交錯 OMNIVERSE (Kousaku OMNIVERSE) — “Intersection OMNIVERSE” — pulls together singers from VTuber agencies, idol franchises, and real-world music acts into a single track built specifically to erase the line between all of them.
An Event Built Around Breaking Boundaries
X VORDER RUNWAY is a live fashion-show-meets-concert event scheduled for Makuhari Messe this September, where VTubers, game and anime characters, and real artists all walk the same runway in outfits designed by illustrator Mika Pikazo. The whole premise is dissolving the usual divides between “worlds” — 2D, 3D, VTuber, idol, live performer — and having everyone share one stage. A theme song for a concept like that pretty much has to feature as many of those worlds as it can fit.

The credited vocalists span 赤見かるび (Akami Karubi), 天海春香 (Amami Haruka) and 星井美希 (Hoshii Miki) from THE iDOLM@STER, 花譜 (Kaf) of KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO, VSPO’s KAWAII CLUB unit, 如月千早 (Kisaragi Chihaya), 久慈川りせ (Kujikawa Rise), Nijisanji’s 橘ひなの (Tachibana Hinano) and 星川サラ (Hoshikawa Sara), singer ナナヲアカリ (Nanawo Akari), duo HIMEHINA, and hololive’s own 星街すいせい (Hoshimachi Suisei) — with Capcom’s 春麗 (Chun-Li) making a live performance appearance too. That’s idols, VTubers from at least three different agencies, an independent singer, and a fighting game character all sharing billing on one track.
Serious Names Behind the Music
Composition comes from 田中公平 (Kohei Tanaka), a veteran anime and game composer with an enormous body of work, with lyrics by 藤林聖子 (Seiko Fujibayashi) and arrangement by 中村博 (Hiroshi Nakamura). Getting a composer with Tanaka’s résumé on a crossover theme song this size signals X VORDER RUNWAY is being treated as a genuine industry event, not a novelty stunt.
Why This One’s Worth Paying Attention To
Crossovers this size don’t happen often, and getting singers from completely separate corners of the entertainment industry onto a single track — let alone getting them to sound cohesive together — is a real production challenge. Kousaku OMNIVERSE is as much a statement about where VTuber and idol culture are heading as it is a song, and the event it’s promoting looks like it’s aiming to be one of the year’s bigger crossover moments.
