Less than a week after WANTED, KMNZ are back with another new MV — and POPSTA is a completely different energy. Where WANTED was swaggering hip-hop confidence, POPSTA leans into something more chaotic, more colourful, and honestly more unhinged. It rules.
POPSTA: The Sound and Who Made It
The track was written, composed, and arranged by lilbesh ramko and hirihiri — a collaboration that tells you a lot about what to expect before you even press play. **lilbesh ramko** is a Japanese hyperpop and digicore artist, a member of the duo **142clawz** alongside producer **hirihiri**, and his production style pulls from internet culture, otaku references, and a deliberately excessive, distorted pop aesthetic. POPSTA sounds like exactly that: squeezed synths, a beat that hits harder than it has any right to, rapid-fire energy from top to bottom. It’s not trying to be cool in the traditional sense. It’s trying to be fun, loud, and slightly too much — and it nails all three.
Mix by hirihiri, recorded by Yuhi Sumino. The production is dense and punchy without losing the playful chaos that makes this kind of track work.
LITA, TINA, and NERO on POPSTA
LITA, TINA, and NERO adapt effortlessly. That’s one of the things that makes KMNZ genuinely interesting as a unit — they can go from a rolling street-rap track like WANTED to something as hyperpop-adjacent as POPSTA and both feel like them. The three voices bounce off each other with real energy here, and the chaotic production suits their delivery well. Nobody sounds out of place. If anything they sound like they had a lot of fun with this one.
The MV and What POPSTA Says About KMNZ Right Now
The MV — illustration by 麦茶 (Mugicha), video by ねむ (Nemu) and PPRPS — is bright and kinetic, matching the song’s energy beat for beat. It looks like a KMNZ video: confident, stylised, with that distinct visual identity they’ve built over years of output.
Two original MVs in less than a week, both from different corners of the genre map — WANTED and now POPSTA. This is part of the Moon Engine release cycle under RK Music, and it’s clear they’re pushing hard in 2026. KMNZ have been doing this since 2018, and they still sound like a unit that’s genuinely interested in where they can go next. POPSTA is proof of that.
