A genuinely stacked lineup teamed up for this one: Kotoha and Hanon of HaKoniwalily, major-label singer-songwriter majiko, and independent utaite Kohana Lam (こはならむ) have released a joint cover of Fire◎Flower, one of the Vocaloid scene’s enduring summer anthems. Four very different voices and backgrounds, one shared song.

A Song Built for This Exact Season

Fire◎Flower was written and composed by halyosy (Haruyoshi Mori), originally released in August 2008 with Kagamine Ren on vocals. It’s a bittersweet coming-of-age track built around fireworks, summer nights, and a boy’s nervous, half-said confession, and nearly two decades on it’s still one of the genre’s go-to picks for exactly this time of year — the kind of song that shows up in karaoke rooms and summer festival playlists alike.

Who’s Behind the Mics

Kotoha and Hanon both perform under HaKoniwalily, giving the cover its home-base anchor. majiko brings a very different pedigree — she built her name on Niconico under the handle “Maji Musume” starting in 2010 before going major-label in 2017, and has since become a respected singer-songwriter in her own right well beyond the Vocaloid-cover scene she came up in. Kohana Lam rounds out the lineup as an independent utaite. Both majiko and Kohana Lam are also announced as guests for HaKoniwalily’s upcoming “Hakorii Natsu Matsuri 2026” live show, which makes this cover feel like a lead-in to that event as much as a standalone release.

Four-Part Harmony, Literally

Splitting a song this well-known across four vocalists gives it a different shape than any solo cover could — each voice gets its own moment across the verses before folding into the others for the chorus, turning a song originally sung by a single Vocaloid into something that leans much more into the “many voices, one feeling” territory the original lyrics were already reaching for.
