Harusaruhi (春猿火) of KAMITSUBAKI STUDIO has released a cover of 弱虫モンブラン (Reloaded) — a song with real history behind it. The original 弱虫モンブラン (“Coward Mont Blanc”) was DECO*27’s very first original song written for GUMI, released back in 2010, and this “Reloaded” version is his own 15-years-later rework, rearranged with Hayato Yamamoto and reworked around Hatsune Miku instead of the original GUMI vocal.

A Song About Not Being Able to Let Go

The lyrics tell a sweet-and-sour heartbreak story — someone who knows a relationship is over but can’t fully accept it, still reaching for a warmth that’s already gone. The title’s “Mont Blanc” imagery ties into that theme directly: something sweet that melts and disappears the moment you try to hold onto it too long. It’s one of DECO*27’s most enduring early works, and revisiting it more than a decade later with modern production gives the song a very different weight than the original had.

Part of a Bigger Release Window

This cover lands as Harusaruhi continues a steady run of releases — her remix album GLITCH STAGE came out in June, following SPICE OF LIFE in February and a run of full albums going back to 2021’s 心眼. A cover like this fits naturally into that pace, giving fans a new piece of her catalog between bigger album cycles.
